Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient observation to monitor health and behavioral changes, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support residents with medication administration as per established protocols.
- Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for individuals with dementia or memory care needs.
- Prepare meals and assist with cooking, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are respected.
- Uphold resident rights by ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to support residents in mobility or transfers.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
Skills
- Experience in hospice care is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of dementia care principles and memory care techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Proficient in providing direct support tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
