Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in daily living activities.
- Assist clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored care plans.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients' health needs, including vital signs.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all clients, promoting health and wellness.
- Advocate for residents' rights and ensure their dignity is maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to enhance client care and outcomes.
- Document client progress and participate in regular assessments of care plans.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal growth.
Qualifications
- Experience in dementia care or memory care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum is essential.
- Strong understanding of senior care practices and principles.
- CPR certification is a plus but can be obtained after hiring.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and monitoring health indicators.
- Familiarity with resident rights and advocacy practices is crucial.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to lift clients safely as needed; physical stamina for active engagement.
