Job Summary: The Job Coach supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving their employment goals by providing on-the-job training, support, and guidance. The Job Coach works closely with individuals, employers, and support teams to ensure successful job placement and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual Support:
- Assess the individual's skills, interests, and employment goals.
- Develop personalized employment plans based on the individual's needs and abilities.
- Provide one-on-one job coaching, training, and support to individuals at their workplace.
- Assist individuals in understanding job tasks, workplace policies, and social norms.
- Employer Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with employers.
- Educate employers about the benefits of hiring individuals with IDD.
- Advocate for reasonable accommodations and support the integration of individuals into the workplace.
- Facilitate effective communication between the individual, employer, and support team.
- Job Placement and Development:
- Identify suitable job opportunities for individuals with IDD.
- Assist individuals in job applications, resume preparation, and interview skills.
- Work with employment services to match individuals with appropriate job placements.
- Monitor job satisfaction and performance, providing ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress, job placements, and support provided.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and assessments in a timely manner.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of job coaching strategies and adjust as necessary.
- Training and Development:
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in employment services for individuals with IDD.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and training sessions.
- Provide training and support to employers and coworkers on working with individuals with IDD.
- Advocacy and Support:
- Advocate for the rights and inclusion of individuals with IDD in the workplace.
- Collaborate with support teams, families, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for individuals.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during job placement and retention.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Experience in job coaching, vocational training, or employment services is a plus.

- Certifications: ACRE certification (Preferred)
Working Conditions:
- The Job Coach will work in various settings, including office environments, community locations, and employer worksites.
- The role may require travel to different job sites and flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate individual and employer needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with job coaching, including standing, walking, and assisting individuals with job tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
