The Behavioral Health Therapist functions as a core member of a health care team that involves the patient, patient’s primary care provider, a psychiatric consultant, other mental health providers, and the referral navigator in the primary care clinic. The Behavioral Health Therapist works within an interdisciplinary environment with a focus on providing integrative care. The Behavioral Health Therapist provides brief behavioral health visits in a medical clinic via the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model (PCBH). As OneWorld has satellite clinics—these visits may also occur via telehealth. After six months of employment, a therapist can discuss expanding their practice by adding on other behavioral health clinics to their daily schedule such as short-term therapy via the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), traditional therapy, or substance abuse therapy.
Job Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program in a field related to mental health practice (counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, etc.) required.
- Current licensure, or license eligibility, in the state of Nebraska required. (PLMHP, LMHP, LIMHP, LCSW, LICSW.)
- Licensure or provisional licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) ideal to provide these specialty services.
- Training and/or experience in trauma-focused treatments using evidence-based interventions preferred.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
- Proficiency in English required for all locations; proficiency in Spanish either required or preferred depending on clinic location and need.
- Demonstrated comfort and ability to work with patients across the life cycle, particularly the substance abuse population.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, practicing in an integrated health care setting providing time-limited consultations in collaboration with PCPs.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to working in a fast-paced clinic, all while maintaining accurate patient documentation in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse patients and staff.
