Position Title: Junior TEMPEST Engineer

Clearance: Top Secret

Location: Hybrid; remote & onsite at contractor/government facilities

Job Summary

Provide TEMPEST test support and programmatic services for the US Coast Guard TEMPEST Program. Work under the direct supervision of a current NSA Certified TEMPEST Professional II (CTP II) conducting ITS and VTI inspections at USCG facilities nationwide.

Education And Experience

• BS in related technical discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain active Top Secret clearance.
  
  

Essential Duties

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Assist in the development of TEMPEST Test Plans and Reports.
• Manage and moderate bi-weekly TEMPEST Status teleconference with USCG representatives.
• Maintain calibration and inventory of TEMPEST Test Equipment.
• Manage and properly store TEMPEST related classified data base.
• Perform VTI inspections as a member of a team or independently.
• Perform ITS inspections under the direction of a certified engineer (CTP II).
• Document TEMPEST survey and inspection activities, utilizing visual and specialized instrumental methods at US Coast Guard units.
• Develop specialized test equipment to facilitate TEMPEST testing.
• Provide TEMPEST documentation support in laboratory and field environments.
• Assist in identifying and acquiring TEMPEST information needed in the development of test plans.
• Assist with development of contingency plans and risk management options.
• Update and maintain documentation as required.
  
  

Knowledge, Skill And Abilities

• Requires a high degree of creative ability, innovative analysis approaches, engineering skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong communications skills both oral and written.
• Ability to review ongoing and emerging C5I documents related to various systems.
• Ability to research issues, processes, installation practices, military and commercial standards and practices, requirements, and related documents related to C5I systems.
• Ability to provide engineering support including evaluation of proposed software and hardware components for C5I systems.
