Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid remote)

OneZero is seeking Network Engineers proficient in Cisco routing and switching technologies, with a strong background in DoD network environments. The successful candidates will support the modernization and upkeep of our government client's enterprise WAN infrastructure and associated networks. Their expertise will be instrumental in executing all aspects of the network modernization and ongoing system O&M tasks, including evaluating, testing, and integrating new technologies and architectures, managing existing network components and performing configuration updates and break/fix related activities, and full lifecycle management of system design and configuration documentation.

Position Title: Senior Network Engineer

Clearance: Secret

Location: Alexandria, VA

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of engineers in providing comprehensive network engineering support throughout all phases of the System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC)

• Evaluate and recommend current and emerging technologies, preparing technical assessments and reports as requested by the client

• Collaborate with vendors and client teams to analyze technical requirements and business processes

• Provide subject matter expertise in network modernization and integration of new technologies

• Address complex technical problems related to network hardware installation, upgrades, and break/fix issues

• Participate in network engineering meetings; creating and presenting project plans, reports, and updates as requested

• Maintain technical documentation for current baselines, designed solutions, and updated configurations

• Develop cybersecurity-compliant network designs aligned with industry best practices and DoD STIGs and SRGs

• Manage maintenance schedules and events ensuring no disruptions to mission-critical functions and data transport services

Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret or higher clearance

• Engineering degree with a focus on network infrastructure management preferred

• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification

• Current Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification

• 10 years of experience in networking infrastructure design and management

• Proficiency in project management with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

• Familiarity with KG-175(Taclane) devices and the General Dynamics' GEM series management application

• Strong team player and mentor, capable of working independently when needed

• Expert level expertise in Cisco routing and switching devices and technologies

• Knowledge of network and security protocols and standards such as IPSEC, IPV4, IPV6, TCP/ICP, GigE, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, 802.1x DMVPN, SDN, MPLS, etc.

• Familiarity with management applications like Cisco Prime, Solar Winds, and Cisco DNA Center

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Occasional travel may be required within the U.S. and its territories

• Must be available to come onsite as requested by the client
