Job Summary: Responsible for assuring work processes are completed and performed properly. Oversees and manages woodchip grinder. Operates forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count pallets. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Conducts operations in a manner than promotes safety and complies with OSHA standards. Assists the Lowe's team with planning and the fulfillment of objectives. Provides the Lowe's team with frequent updates, results, and recommendations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
45% Sorting, repairing, and accurately counting pallets. Managing inventory including forecasting and auditing.
40% Operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, stack, and load pallets. Organizing and securing stored pallets.
10% Keeping track of KPIs (key performance indicators) and reporting back frequent updates to Lowe’s management. Collaborates with management and makes suggestions as needed. Reports any damage to equipment or any other safety hazards.
5% Performing general clean-up tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
Education and Experience:
- 1 - 2 years experience working in a warehouse preferred.
- Mechanical understanding preferred.
- Experience within pallet recycling industry preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Ability to make decisions regarding movement of pallets and material to maximize the efficiency of the location.
- Ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed.
- Ability to repair and tear down pallets.
Equipment, Machines, and Software Used:
Ability to operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, telephones, and photocopier.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiar with operating forklifts in compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals.
- Ability to perform multiple warehouse functions.
- Good physical health and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to analyze and solve basic functions efficiently within the warehouse facility in a timely manner.
- Excellent judgment & decision-making skills.
- Sense of responsibility and ability to accomplish tasks without supervision.
- Teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- May be required to lift pallets by hand, weighing 50 – 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform repeating functions within the warehouse for 10 hours daily.
- Ability to accurately count pallets and stack them in an organized manner.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment where exposure to adverse environmental conditions may apply.
