Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our team and contribute to the production process by operating and maintaining laser cutting machines. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and accurate cutting of materials according to specifications, maintaining a high level of precision and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to cut materials (e.g., metal, plastic) as per production orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and job instructions to determine machine setup and material requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser cutting machines to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Select and set up lenses, mirrors, and nozzles based on the material type and thickness.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Keep detailed records of production runs, including materials used, time taken, and any incidents or adjustments made.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Experience
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machine setup, operation, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD designs.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
