Onin Staffing is looking to hire several Electro-Mechanical Technicians for a client in Dover, DE. Great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a prominent company!
1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm
2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm
3rd Shift: 10pm-6:30am
BASIC RESPONSIBILITY
In addition to the following, employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individual’s activities in contributing to food safety, and reporting situations that may impact food.
To support all manufacturing processing/warehousing areas by repairing, troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on all warehousing and processing related equipment and systems.
JOB DUTIES
- Reports to a maintenance supervisor and interacts with all hourly and salaried maintenance and production personnel.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs all types of electrical equipment including starters, switches, controls, meters, motor control centers, and motors and transformers that do not require rigging.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs all types of pneumatic controls and equipment, except equipment that requires rigging and tools common to other trades.
- Read and understand all types of electrical blueprints including ladder diagrams and programming logic diagrams. Be able to make programming changes, load and record programs using PLC terminals and recorders.
- Knowledgeable and applies industrial electronic and electrical theory and theory of industrial electronic components and controls when required and applies such theory when required.
- Makes shop calculations to determine proper dimensions, fuse requirements, ampere flow, wire size and/or motor horsepower.
- Fabricates, installs and maintains conduit and wiring systems.
- Operates and uses knowledgeably all power tools, hand tools, electrical test equipment, etc. normally used to install, maintain and trouble shoot plant electrical equipment.
- Applies electrical practice on machinery peculiar to all plant processes and operations and can differentiate between electrical and mechanical trouble.
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and repairs. Also performs necessary craft related cleaning and lubrication.
- Requisitions material from stores for jobs assigned and is responsible for proper charges on withdrawal slips.
- Selects and requisitions, where necessary, appropriate shop equipment, machinery, and tools to accomplish assignments.
- Prepares reports and maintains any records required.
- Recognizes and reports to supervision any deficiencies, defective equipment or unusual conditions.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area to insure the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Observes all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Trains additional personnel in any aspect of this job as required.
- Use computer-based applications such as SAP, RD Web and all others that apply.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned to him/her by the supervisor.
Work Experience
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to read and perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Basic computer skills such as keyboarding required
- Excellent customer service skills such as problem solving, timeliness, and follow-up required
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and practices and have the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation problems in a positive and professional manner
- Must be able to react to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner
- Position’s greatest challenge is to assist in improving overall efficiencies through effective mechanical, electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting and repair
- Position holder must have the ability to effectively communicate with project engineers to ensure that all packaging projects meet packaging technical objectives
- Position holder must possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated. He/she must be willing to work in all facets of the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation arena to upgrade his/her overall skill base.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Occasional exposure to seasonal conditions such as rain, snow, wind, humidity and sun
- Standing, occasional walking, some lifting, and ascending and descending stairs
- Exposure to seasonal temperatures. Working around moving equipment, operating stand-up truck, working from ladders
