What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Lathe Machinist position at Onin Staffing?
Onin Staffing in Creedmoor is currently recruiting for a manual Machinist for a client in Youngsville that refurbishes electric motors. Machinists are responsible for repairing and manufacturing parts using many types of conventional machining tools such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, while using machinery and equipment such as lathes, mills, and cutting tools.
- Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
- Will transition to 3pm-11:30pm after 90 days
- $19-$25/hour based on experience

As a manual Machinist you will be responsible for:
- Measuring and recording mechanical fits
- Performing machine repairs
- Manufacturing and repairing parts per customer order and instruction
- Using precision measuring instruments
- Operating lathes
- Creating new parts for motors or repairing existing parts
Work Experience
For the Machinist role, you should have the ability to:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Read and interpret drawings and/or blueprints
- Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute rate, ratio or percent
- Read precise measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Operate lathes, grinders, and other equipment
Previous fabrication or machine shop experience is a huge plus!
