About Us

Only7Seconds is a national leader in addressing the youth loneliness crisis. By 2035, we aim to have two million youth and young adults experience meaningful, intentional connection. This will result in youth leading less lonely, more socially healthy lives. We will accomplish this by driving multimedia awareness campaigns, deploying evidence-informed resources, and building youth-led programs.

This position will play a critical part of the next phase of our young organization’s growth. The VP of Programs will own the oversight of all programmatic elements of the organization, drive innovative solutions and be a catalyst for the social connection movement. This role will dramatically expand our programming efforts and core team and work directly with the Executive Director.

The VP of Programs is strategic, relationship-oriented, and highly motivated. As a primary leadership position in an early stage, growing non-profit, the VP of Programs will need an innovative mind with a strong drive to grow program impact and be comfortable living in ambiguous situations. Flexibility will be key as this role continues to develop alongside the organization’s growth and impact. This position is open to candidates anywhere in the state of Washington and travel will be required.

VP OF PROGRAMS RESPONSIBILITIES :

The VP of Programs (VPP) is responsible for the oversight, strategy, development, and refinement of all Only7Seconds programming, with an overall goal of sustainable program growth. This role will be responsible for researching, planning, developing and overseeing the programs that further the organization’s mission.

This position will lead and manage the program department and all positions supporting programming. Additionally, the VPP will oversee the implementation of Only7Seconds programming and resources across educational institutions and youth programs within the PNW, cultivate new and manage existing relationships with schools and partners, and ensure the effective delivery of our programs.

Specifically, this includes :

  • Program Oversight and Development
  • Implement strategies for sustainable program growth, improvement, and scalability.
  • Lead all program budgets, projects, personnel, revenue, grant reporting, and resources.
  • Lead and manage the program team to execute all department goals.
  • Lead the rollout and adoption of Only7Seconds Connection Curriculum & clubs in schools and youth programs throughout the Pacific Northwest.
  • Support and lead research on effectiveness of programming.
  • Oversee the development of the Ambassador program to engage and empower youth participants.
  • Access and Outreach Strategies :
  • Devise comprehensive strategies to enhance access to Only7Seconds’ programs, resources, and messaging.
  • Oversee Only7Seconds communications and marketing team to promote program visibility and engagement.
  • Support Only7Seconds’ public relations by being a personal ambassador in the social health & loneliness field.
  • Relationship Management :
  • Cultivate new relationships and manage existing partnerships with schools, youth groups, and community organizations.
  • Along with program staff, act as a liaison between Only7Seconds and educational institutions in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Verify levels of engagement for board members, staff, volunteers and stakeholders interested in actively supporting projects and programming.

VP OF PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS :

  • 5 years experience in program management, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven startup.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing programs, ideally with a youth-focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Highly motivated to drive growth.
  • Self-starter who drives and leads organizations to the next level.
  • Experience in partnership development, community engagement, and public relations.

    • Nice to haves :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Relations, Marketing, Project Management, Social Work, Public Health, Nonprofit Management or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in startups and early-stage organizations.
  • Understanding of systems for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills focused on clear, concise communication, including public speaking ability.
  • Familiarity with Gen-Z and Gen Alpha and the ability to engage youth in program development and use.
  • An understanding of the loneliness and social health space and a strong ability to speak to it.
  • Experience in marketing and communications.
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish and English.

    • Location : Hybrid; must be located in Washington state and willing to travel within the Pacific Northwest. You will visit Chelan, Washington for a monthly staff gathering.

    Compensation : Salary for this full-time position is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Included is starting at 22 days of PTO and 11 holidays.
