About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead projects in the heavy industry, metals, chemical/petrochemical, and environmental sectors. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including:
Leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers
Engaging with clients to understand their needs
Preparing proposals and project scopes
Collaborating with various disciplines
Sizing breakers, starters, conduits, and cables
Developing 2-D orthographic designs and single-line/network diagrams
Conducting project forecasts and cost estimates
Overseeing electrical systems installations to ensure compliance with construction documents
Potentially collaborating with other DLZ offices on architectural and civil projects
Key Responsibilities:
Mentor and lead a team of electrical engineers
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals
Manage multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets
Work on diverse project types, scales, and complexities
Assist in developing feasibility studies
Communicate with clients to oversee installations and manage budgets
Ensure all work is performed safely, following the Health and Safety Plan
Represent the company positively and uphold its core values
Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
At least 10 years of relevant experience in the industrial sector (15 years preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required
Familiarity with NEC, IEC, ISA, and IEEE design standards is a plus
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred, but not mandatory
Strong specification writing skills are essential
Management experience leading an electrical engineering team is preferred
Experience with arc-flash studies is a plus
Ability to safely navigate construction sites and adhere to all safety regulations
