We are looking for an Cabling Engineer with excellent administration skills to take on the role of Cable Management Software Administrator (CMS). This is a highly visible data centre infrastructure role that requires commitment to providing a high quality service to meet customer project demand.
The CMS Administrator is fundamental in the delivery of support services to clients. Reporting to the Regional Service Delivery Manager and working within a team of technicians, the CMS Administrator will be site based and be responsible for the management, maintenance, enhancements and upgrades of the client hosted CMS database within the client data centres.

What you’ll be doing as our CMS Administrator:
- Dedicated single point of contact for the CMS database administration.
- Administer all changes to existing cable management system.
- Ensuring the CMS solution becomes a fully integrated planning and management tool delivering a more efficient and enhanced level of MAC service.
- Responsible to ensure that all information is available to provide the service.
- Delivering detailed reports relating to SLA attainment.
- Compile patching schedules utilizing and updating CMS Database.
- Maintaining and adding when necessary new infrastructure connectivity data.
- Undertake localized regular audits to verify the accuracy of the database.
- Compile reports on cabling infrastructure utilizing the CMS Database as required.
- Cabling infrastructure capacity planning.
- Maintain the integrity of the database.
- Maintain the integrity of the software.
- Carry out surveys and update drawings and schedules.
- Train Engineers in the use of the user CMS Software.
- Compete process and procedure document.
- Attend client vendor meetings where necessary.
- Provide information and support to client, vendors and engineering team as required.
- Ensure all works comply with the supplier, client and manufacturers quality standards.
- Conform to supplier support managed services processes and procedures at all times
- To inform the Service Delivery Manager and Administrators of any updates on daily and weekly basis.
- Escort and supervision of activities within technology rooms i.e. 3rd party and other bank group activities.
- Change control management.
- Installation of new patch cabling and cable management compliance within a data centre environment.
- Installation of new server racks.
- Rack and stack servers and other network hardware.
- Management and tracking of assets.
- To act as mediator between supplier management, client contacts and 3rd parties and make service affecting decisions as required.
- Data Quality checks including a 100% validation of all physical assets against the UBS Asset management database on an annual basis.
- Understanding and ensure data centre redundancy requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as instructed by client and/or Onnec Group Management.
- Relevant experience of a Banking IT Support Environment.
- Relevant experience of CMS / IIM Software and Database Administration.
- Good experience of Work Flow Process software.
- Good understanding of Change Management.
- Relevant experience in a Data Centre Moves Adds and Changes environment (IT Hardware deployment).
- Relevant experience in structured cabling installation, fault finding and testing with fluke test equipment.
- Good knowledge of structured cabling standards and cable types (FTP,UTP & Optical Fibre)
- Good MS Office Suite experience (Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
- Self-starter, organized, detailed-oriented and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Prioritization skills and multitasking ability.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Expert knowledge of Asset Management Systems.
- Expert knowledge of Ticketing Systems.
- Expert understanding of complex change management and service delivery processes.
- Ability to mentor and train new starters on all systems, processes and procedures.
- Ability to approve / sign off training modules.
- Ability to lead / supervise shift activities.
- Ability to lead / supervise special projects from design through to handover.
- Ability to cover peer group line management responsibilities during high workflow periods and planned/unplanned leave.

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
