What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing / Special Events Coordinator position at Onondaga County Bar Association?
The Onondaga County Bar Association (OCBA), a 1,000-member professional association, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Marketing/Special Events Coordinator. This role involves maintaining, composing, and disseminating membership communications, including our monthly “Bar Reporter” newsletter, website updates, and member emails. Additionally, you will assist with organizing membership and community events and manage our Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Fee Dispute Arbitration programs for attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute membership communications via multiple channels.
- Maintain and update the OCBA website.
- Assist in planning and executing membership and community events, and represent OCBA at those events.
- Manage the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program for attorneys.
- Manage Fee Arbitration Program: Receive attorney fee dispute complaints by phone or mail. Coordinate with 5th Judicial District Administrator, generate correspondence necessary for program maintenance. Arrange for volunteer arbitrators, set up arbitration dates and ensure compliance with arbitration findings
- Engage volunteers and program committees effectively.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Experience with MS Office, WordPress, Canva, and Constant Contact is a plus.
- Ability to engage and work with volunteers and program committees.
Additional Information:
- If selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide representative samples of your written work and/or creative output.
- Benefits include twelve paid annual holidays, two weeks of vacation, and eight personal days, along with health insurance. Thirty-five hour work week (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
- Salary range is mid/upper $30K to mid $40K, depending on experience.
- There is potential for some remote (at-home) work.
