Our client is seeking a Program Manager - Clinical Applications to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical applications within a healthcare organization, ensuring efficient workflows, data accuracy, and compliance with regulations by collaborating with clinicians, IT teams, and vendors to manage the entire lifecycle of clinical software, from selection and configuration to ongoing support and upgrades. Candidates must have experience building custom tablespaces and leading projects in large environments with athenaOne.

This is at least a 9-12 month contract role. Our client would prefer candidates work hybrid from their Nashville, TN office.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Project Management : I n collaboration with the Director of Applications, you will lead the implementation of new clinical applications, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and managing project timelines to ensure successful deployment.
  • Stakeholder Management : In collaboration with the Director of Applications, you will facilitate communication and collaboration between clinicians, IT staff, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and align on project goals.
  • Requirements Gathering : In collaboration with the Director of applications, you will conduct needs assessments to identify clinical workflows and data requirements, translating them into functional specifications for application configuration and customization.
  • Training and Support : In collaboration with the Director of Training and the Director of Applications you will develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for clinicians and staff on new application functionalities, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Data Integrity and Quality Assurance : In collaboration with the Director of Data Integrity, you will monitor data quality within clinical applications, identifying and resolving data inconsistencies to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight : In Collaboration with the Director of Clinical Informatics, you will ensure clinical applications adhere to relevant healthcare regulations and industry standards, including HIPAA and Meaningful Use guidelines.
  • Vendor Management : In collaboration with the Director of applications, you will manage relationships with application vendors, negotiating contracts, overseeing updates, and resolving technical issues.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement : Analyze usage data to identify areas for optimization, implement process improvements, and measure the impact of clinical applications on patient care.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Clinical Knowledge : Strong understanding of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
  • IT Proficiency : Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, data integration, and application configuration. Must have Athena.
  • Project Management Skills : Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting timelines and budgets.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize clinical applications.
  • Leadership Skills : Ability to guide and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
