We are looking for a Service Desk Administrator to join our team! The Service Desk Administrator will work at our corporate office in Metairie and spend some time at our administrative office in Laplace, La. This position is classified as Hybrid, which means that this person will work in the office up to 5 days a week but may work from home if needed by the organization. Will be required to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues.
Our Service Desk Administrator position has the initial salary of $27.00 to $31.00/hour, with consideration for skills and experience. Service Desk Administrators have the opportunity to grow within the organization to the position that becomes their passion.
Role:
The Service Desk Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the credit union's service desk and end user environment. Recommends and researches enhancements to the systems key components. Ensures that operating systems, hardware, software systems, and related operating procedures are maintained to meet organization needs. Will be required to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues.
The Service Desk Administrator will assist employees in the I. T. Department and all appropriate internal credit union partners. Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath’s mission, culture, and core values. Encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind always. Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific direction from management. Ensures value through decision making that supports credit union goals and interests. Passionately displays a desire to build rapport and expand relationships with all members both internally and externally. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs selected system administration for Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory and on premise/cloud-based applications.
- Responds to and resolves escalated service desk requests.
- Reviews application logs.
- Installs and test computer related equipment.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Troubleshoots server related issues. Reports related issues and makes recommendations for resolution.
- Monitors the system daily and responds immediately to security or usability concerns.
- Provides technical support for both hardware and software issues. Works with tech support vendors and field engineers. Diagnoses hardware, software, and operator problems, takes remedial actions, and recommends changes.
- Manages the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems and maintains equipment inventory.
- Oversees the Service Desk functions of the credit union.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience:
Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Experience with Microsoft based server operating systems and server virtualization. Advanced knowledge of end user systems and service desk functions.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. A Certification required, Network and Security preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Other Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility is necessary. Proficiency with database software and the MS Office suite is also required.
