Overview
As a vital member of our IT Infrastructure team, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our corporate networks. This role requires independent action, collaborative effort, and a strong commitment to ensuring the availability and performance of our network infrastructure. Reporting to the Assistant Infrastructure Manager, the Senior Network Engineer will also contribute to the deployment of new network technologies and equipment while ensuring adherence to established standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of system configurations for complex networking environments, ensuring strict compliance with established standards and best practices.
- Collaborate strategically with business units to determine advanced hardware requirements and oversee the coordination of installation efforts.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level team members in the spirit of coaching and collaboration, providing tactical direction as necessary to support Infrastructure Management.
- Proactively monitor network performance, identify and resolve complex issues, and strategically plan and schedule upgrades to ensure optimal network availability and performance.
- Work in close partnership with architects to enhance network design and configuration for superior performance and efficiency.
- Perform advanced network infrastructure duties across LAN / WAN, ensuring secure system access and continuously monitoring and analyzing network traffic for potential issues.
- Develop, enforce, and refine network security policies and access controls to safeguard system integrity and data confidentiality.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies through continuous learning and active participation in professional organizations.
- Provide expert-level support for Credit Union network equipment, delivering technical assistance and troubleshooting complex issues as needed.
- Report on network operational status, prioritize critical tasks, and lead and manage high-impact projects, ensuring successful completion and alignment with organizational goals.
