We are currently seeking experienced Project Field Safety Advisors based in and around Chicago, Illinois to join our team for a 5-month construction project.
Job Description:
As a Project Field Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to safety protocols and regulations on project sites. This includes conducting safety inspections, delivering training, and promoting a culture of safety to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment for a team of window glaziers. The role requires working Monday through Friday for 40 hours/week, with makeup days on weekends as needed due to weather delays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safety oversight for window glaziers on-site
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards
Monitor the use of scaffolds, fall protection, and MEWPS (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms)
Conduct safety training and inspections on-site
Assist with identifying safety hazards and provide corrective actions
Maintain safety documentation and reports
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence
Develop and deliver safety training programs for site personnel
Ensure all employees understand safety policies and procedures
Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills
Communicate safety expectations to site personnel and report safety performance to management
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in construction or civil safety
Safety degree (or related field) required
OSHA 30 Certification (required)
First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (required)
Experience with scaffolding, fall protection, and MEWPS
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence change across all levels of an organization
Available to work long hours, including weekends as needed based on the project schedule

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a Safety-related field (preferred)
