SUMMARY
South Denver OBGYN and Midwives is looking for a CNM with a strong team spirit and a passion for birth to join our practice full-time. We work within a private OBGYN group with very supportive physicians who truly understand the Midwifery Model of care. In addition Littleton Hospital supports low intervention birth which creates a team spirit with the nurses and our Midwives. South Denver OBGYN is a member of the OnPoint Medical Group Network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide full-scope midwifery care including independent management of women’s health care focusing primarily on pregnancy, birth, postpartum as well as family planning, gynecological and primary care of women.
- Practice that provides for consultation, collaborative management or referral to obstetrics, perinatology, and other specialties as indicated by client health status
- Manage hospital labor assessment and admission, normal and abnormal labor, cervical ripening and labor induction, postpartum care and discharge.
- Perform vaginal birth and laceration repair, limited 1st trimester and 3rd trimester OB ultrasounds as appropriate to training and experience, C-section first surgical assist, and IUD and subdermal contraceptive implant insertion and removal.
- Maintain medical records according to community standards of practice.
EDUCATION:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nurse-Midwifery or Midwifery required.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) certification
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License for the State of Colorado
- Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license for the State of Colorado with prescriptive authority
- CPR/BLS certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
- DEA registration
WORK EXPEREINCE AND OTHER QAILIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a full scope midwife, including C-section first assist preferred
- Previous training or experience with OB ultrasound preferred
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and acuity of the patients served
- Ability to appropriately counsel and educated patients and families about complex care issues
- Able to effectively and respectfully communicate and collaborate with midwife partners and others, including but not limited to physicians, management, nursing, and support staff
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 / annually
