Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team specializing in wound care and dermatology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing chronic and acute wounds, skin conditions, and dermatological procedures. This role involves providing patient-centered care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and utilizing evidence-based practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic wounds, as well as dermatological conditions.
- Perform procedures such as debridement, biopsies, wound dressing changes, and minor dermatologic interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on wound and skin care management, preventive measures, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Utilize advanced technology and techniques for wound care, including negative pressure wound therapy and advanced dressings.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in wound care and dermatology through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Utah.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., AANP, ANCC) required.
- Specialized training or certification in wound care (e.g., Wound Care Certified Certified Wound Specialist strongly preferred or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in wound care and/or dermatology.
- Proficiency in dermatologic procedures and wound management techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with patients and team members.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
Experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with aesthetic dermatology treatments (optional, depending on the role).
- Experience in Wound Care
- Leadership or mentoring experience in a clinical setting.
