POSITION TITLE:
School Treasurer - Elementary
REPORTS TO:
Principal

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff and the public
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to use grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation
- Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Ability to keyboard with accuracy and speed
- Ability to compile and summarize information
- Ability to prioritize and schedule variable work
- Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Windows-based computer, electronic calculator, photocopier, fax machine
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma and two (2) years of related clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
SALARY: Salary Grade 57
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions of the school using computerized accounting program (Receipt all monies, check invoices, pay all bills, reconcile bank statements, make bank deposits, etc.).
- Submit payroll data to the central office for all employees including attendance and substitutes.
- Complete necessary reports for school administration, i.e. fire drill, property change, sales tax, principal's monthly report, sanitation, etc.
- Secure substitute teachers for teacher absences.
- Assist with purchases of supplies for school and office.
- Handle administrative correspondence for the school.
- File student insurance claims.
- Perform other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
- Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.
- Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to facilitate the evacuation of students during emergency situations and/or drills.
- Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.
- Must be able to drive to variety of locations necessary to conduct school business.
- Must be able to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noises.
