The Library Courier is a vital support position responsible for the safe and timely transportation of library materials between library branches and other designated locations within Onslow County. This part-time position requires a reliable individual with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established schedules and procedures.

- Transporting books, library materials, mail, and other items between library facilities and other locations.
- Operating a library vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Loading and unloading materials, using equipment such as hand trucks.
- Sorting materials for correct transport and delivery.
- Cleaning and maintaining delivery vehicle.
- Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Following all Onslow County Library policies and procedures.
- Performing assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteered.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent driving skills and familiarity with Onslow County roads and traffic patterns.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform basic life operational functions such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to perform work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Must possess visual acuity to operate equipment and motor vehicles, prepare written records, and operate computers.
- Required to work outside as needed in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Salary will be based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
