Description
The role of the Total Joint Coordinator (TJC) is that of advocate, consultant, and educator in the implementation and coordination of the Total Joint Surgery Program. Responsible for immediately assessing each individual patient upon the initial pre-admission visit addressing: biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, discharge planning factors and significant other/family support needs as it relates to Total Joint Surgery. Assesses and reassess patients on an ongoing basis throughout the pre-operative and post-operative settings, identifying patient needs/problems and developing appropriate nursing interventions. Tracks patient progress along care continuum and provides follow-up support. Assist in collection and evaluation of quality data and metrics of data.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Current North Carolina RN License.
- BLS Certification
Experience:
- 5 years of professional nursing experience
- Clinical experience in the care of surgical patients, pre-op/intra-op/post-op preferred
