Title: Outreach Project Manager
Hours: Full-time, Day shift (occasional evening or weekend day for special events)

Wage: $18 - $20 per hour

Purpose: Manage Community Engagement via outreach events, presentations, social media, agency website, event planning, fundraising, and promotional/print items.
About Onslow Women’s Center:
The mission of OVC is to interrupt the cycle of violence by providing crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence (DV), sexual assault (SA), human trafficking (HT). OVC provides advocacy, case management, community outreach and education, and emergency shelter. Our advocates provide a broad focus on all potential elements of victimization through crisis intervention, identify and respond to cognitive distortions, explore coping with symptoms, provide information, options, resources, explanation of systems and how to interface, and provide psychoeducation about sexual assault and Intimate Partner Violence. Advocates respond to the hospital for sexual assault cases, accompaniment to court, and support the shelter clients. The shelter is intended to be temporary based on emergent and imminent danger for all genders and their children. Additionally, OVC owns and operates a robust Thrift Store called Finders Keepers where all proceeds support the mission of serving survivors and shelter clients shop at no cost.
Position:
OVC is excited to announce a position for a talented Outreach Manager that will engage and seek out opportunities to increase OVC’s footprint in the county. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing outreach programs that engage the community, promote our mission, and foster partnerships through social media and event planning. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to social impact, and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. OVC is looking for a creative problem solver, adept at strategic planning to reach the community to share how to attain services, educate about SA/DV/HT, highlight volunteer opportunities, and solicit donations to support the mission. OVC is looking for someone who is skilled in social media/digital media/graphic design/website editing.
RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to the following):
Under the supervision of the Executive Director and in cooperation with staff and volunteer advocates, this outreach project manager will:
Advocacy (15%)
o Become a trained advocate by the NCCADV & NCCASA
o Direct service advocacy
§ Answer crisis calls to the main office or transfer to crisis line when needed
§ Walk-in survivors to the main office when staff advocate unavailable
§ Support survivors with disclosures when interfacing within the community
Outreach (85%)
o Develop and implement outreach programs/events that align with organizational goals and community needs;
o Develop and execute overall OVC marketing strategy of increasing the OVC footprint in the community
o Educate stakeholders about our programs and services through workshops, presentations, and public speaking engagements.
o Conduct market research to understand community demographics and tailor outreach efforts accordingly.
o Research for and maintain research database by identifying and assembling marketing information.
o Maintain current branding style guide across all messaging (social media, Website, Promo items, print material);
o Manage OVC presence at community events and plan OVC sponsored events.
o Donation solicitation and engage in fundraising activities to support outreach efforts and sustain program operations.
o Facilitate monthly strategic outreach committee meetings.
o Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines are met and objectives are achieved.
o Monthly reports.
Social Media
§ Develop social media marketing plans and programs and direct promotional support.
§ Leverage awareness topics intersection with SA/DV/HT.
§ Adoption and implementation of social media best practices across all social media channels.
§ Create and manage consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving community engagement, and promoting social media campaigns;
§ Use analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance;
§ Preparation of monthly reports on social media marketing efforts;
§ Provide recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results;
§ Monitor social media feeds, engage with users, and actively participate in social listening to gain insights into audience preferences,
§ Monitor / respond to posts or private messages from the community.
Website
§ Manage the agency website;
§ Update the layout and content.
§ Monitor and respond to web submissions.
Event Planning
§ Plan annual OVC events (SA / DV awareness months)
§ Respond to community event requests for OVC tabling
§ Search out new opportunities within the community
§ Facilitate procurement of promo items
Fundraising
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Qualification:
o bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field in human services.
o Effective written, verbal, pictographic and visual communication skills with ability to disseminate information pursuant to the intended audience.
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Web browsers, and Canva software and understanding of social media / digital marketing management, execution, strategy, and analytics.
o Proven experience in program development, project management, community engagement initiatives.
o Excellent public speaking abilities with experience in educating diverse audiences.
o Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
o Strong data collection and analysis skills to inform decision-making.
o Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks;
Desired Qualifications:
o Bilingual
o A background in social work or related fields is a plus, enhancing understanding of community dynamics and the impact of interpersonal violence.
o Familiarity with fundraising strategies and techniques is highly desirable.
o Experience with non-profit and/or community-based agencies;
o Experience providing culturally competent services to a diverse group;
o Working knowledge of local community partners and services.
