Director of Nursing (DON) Job Description
The Ontario Center is seeking a qualified Director of Nursing to join our team in Canandaigua, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all nursing staff in the facility, developing and implementing nursing policy and procedures, and ensuring adequate nursing staff levels.
Duties:
- Supervise all nursing staff
- Develop and implement nursing policy and procedures
- Oversee hiring and employment of nursing staff
- Evaluate staff skills and ensure current knowledge
- Oversee nursing employee conduct
- Be knowledgeable of incidents at the facility
- Assess health needs of each resident
Requirements:
- Current State RN license required
- Minimum 5 years experience in long-term care
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
- Evidence of strong supervision and leadership skills
