What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operation Associate / Customer Service position at Ontario Plastics?
This is a key role in supporting business operations and the continued development of our customer relationships. Our team is proud to be recognized for our "save the day" approach to customer service and a "can-do" culture. We utilize IQMS ERP to support our job functions.
Key job responsibilities include:
· Be interactive with customers, OP team members and potential new customers.
· Receive all incoming orders from the customer, Engineering, Sales Manager and/or reps and process those orders in a consistent and effective manner.
· Provide direct assistance to the Operations Manager, to help with scheduling production orders.
· Track all orders and provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on status.
· Complete specific purchasing functions that fall outside of resin/standard inserts/packaging/shop supplies. I.E assembly components or outsourced processes.
· Complete the Forecast Module in IQMS.
· Assist with maintaining and conducting various training.
· Answer and redirect, as required, all inbound correspondence (e.g., phone calls, email, fax) and ensuring a positive and lasting impression.
· Proactively develop, implement and monitor improvement processes to ensure a competitive advantage and guarantee customer satisfaction.
· Respond to all customer requests for technical information, sales literature, order status, compliance requests, etc. in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
· Assist customers in quote requests, follow up on open quotes and help maintain status log.
· Perform other duties, as assigned, including the annual customer survey.

Desired Education/Experience:
· 5 years experience in manufacturing, plastics preferred, along with customer service.
· Ability to work effectively in a technical position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills
· A college degree at the Associates-level or above is preferred
Physical Demands:
· Regularly required to talk and hear.
· Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor
· Occasional need to walk to manufacturing floor and communicate with production employees
· Hand/eye coordination to type, handle objects and paperwork
· Occasionally reach across or upward with hands and arms to retrieve objects, typically less than 20 pounds
· Stoop and/or crouch to reach objects, typically less than 20 pounds
Visual Activity:
Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading documentation and reports. Regular use of computers.
Hearing Ability:
Ability to communicate with employees. Also ability to communicate with vendors and customers via diverse media: in-person, telephone, video conferencing, among others.
Working Conditions:
· Indoor office, climate controlled.
· Periodic exposure to manufacturing/production floor environment and the noise and activity level associated with it.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
