What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Ontel Security Services, Inc.?
Ontel Security Services, Inc. is currently looking for a part-time dispatcher. Ontel is a full-service security agency that provides security services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ontel will provide on the job training.
Job Duties:
- Taking of all phone calls that come in through the shift.
- Entering all calls into Ontel’s Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD).
- Dispatching of all calls in a timely manor.
- Handling all radio traffic from all officers and patrol personnel.
- Maintaining and tracking all on-duty personnel. Ensuring officers arrive at the assigned posts for shifts and are properly relived before they go off-duty.
- Assisting the Watch Commander with scheduling issues.
- Monitoring and all of Ontel camera systems including Ontel’s office cameras along with client cameras as needed.
- Monitoring all alarms and other camera systems as needed.
- Maintaining accurate incident logs of incidents in the CAD.
- Inputting names, license plates, and other information into Ontel’s CAD.
- Taking phone messages for personnel as needed.
- Taking emergency security coverage requests.
- Utilizing GPS to ensure timely dispatching to calls and enhancing officer safety.
- Dispatching for other companies as directed.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiar with computer programs including Microsoft Word.
- Customer Service Skills
- Familiar with using Radio Communications for Dispatching
- Familiar with using Computer Aided Dispatch Systems
- Ontel is a drug and alcohol free workplace new employees will have to submit to a drug screening as part of the hiring process. Ontel respects California law regarding legalization of Marijuana and use of it does not disqualify someone from a position.

Pay During Training:
While on FTO: $19.00 per hour. (20 working days) If remedial training is needed, the rate will stay at $19.00 per hour. Must clear training program.
After clearing training: $20.00 - $21.75 per hour.
