About the Role:
A Loss Prevention Officer at Ontel Security Services, Inc. is responsible for protecting retail grocery stores from theft and ensuring the safety of customers and employees. These officers operate in plain clothes to discreetly monitor store activities and prevent loss.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and observe customers and employees to detect suspicious behavior and prevent theft.
- Conduct surveillance using in-store cameras and other monitoring equipment.
- Apprehend and detain shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws.
- Document incidents of theft and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of the store to ensure all security measures are in place.
- Collaborate with store management to develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a discreet security presence.
Requirements:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Certification: Current California Guard Card
- Language Skills: Fluent in English (bilingual is a plus, but English is the priority)
- Experience: Security experience preferred but not required
