Job Purpose
Ontex Operations USA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to join our growing team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and fixed asset management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing fixed asset accounting processes, with hands-on experience in SAP, and a solid understanding of the manufacturing industry. This role will be responsible for the accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Fixed Asset Management:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, disposal, and transfers.
- Perform regular fixed asset reconciliations, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax, accounting, and regulatory standards related to fixed assets, including but not limited to IFRS and local GAAP.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate capital expenditure reporting.
- Monitor and update asset life cycles, including depreciation schedules, asset categorization, and asset impairments.
- Provide fixed asset-related support to management and other departments as required.
Accounting Support:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Research and analyze account balances to resolve discrepancies or discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve account-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to track assets related to production equipment, machinery, and other plant assets.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in fixed asset accounting procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist with general accounting tasks, such as journal entries, account analysis, and financial reporting.
- Support other accounting staff as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP and its fixed asset module.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and fixed asset management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment. High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IFRS or local GAAP regulations for fixed assets.
- Certification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting processes.
