Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to optimize our supply chain operations by balancing demand and supply effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring optimal inventory levels while maximizing service levels and minimizing backorders and obsolescence. The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining production plans that ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery to customers while keeping inventory levels aligned with the Sales & Operations Plan (S&OP). This position plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and customer satisfaction through effective planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain production plans based on demand forecasts, manufacturing constraints, and raw material availability
- Configure and manage production schedules within SAP
- Monitor production progress and make real-time adjustments to meet sales schedules
- Review and adjust schedules according to incoming sales orders
- Participate in daily planning and weekly master planning meetings
Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while meeting service level targets
- Manage phase-in/phase-out processes to minimize obsolete stock
- Identify and implement solutions for excess inventory reduction
- Contribute to quarterly lot size calculations
- Maintain master data required for operational planning
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Management, Purchasing, and Production teams
- Coordinate with demand planning and key account management
- Collaborate with raw material planning and manufacturing teams
- Resolve supply and demand imbalances through stakeholder engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience (5 years)
- Previous experience in supply chain and production planning
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP/SAP systems
- Strong understanding of business processes in an international company
- Demonstrated ability to maintain stock levels within inventory parameters
- Experience with production planning in manufacturing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- APICS certification or similar supply chain credentials
- Experience in consumer goods or manufacturing industry
- Advanced SAP knowledge
- Project management experience
