Our team is looking for a Contracts Specialist to join them. You will report to the Program Manager, Bids & Proposals , and will have an onsite work structure in Plainview, NY .
To be considered for the Contracts Specialist opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you :
- Bachelor's degree and / or 5 years' experience in a related area, such as engineering, business / marketing, finance and / or economics, customer service, or account management
- High proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, CRM, Visio)
- Experience with proposals, including reading / analyzing requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposal (RFPs), and requests for quotation (RFQs)
- Familiarity with U.S. Federal Government agencies and / or procurement process, DCMA and Government Source Inspection (GSI)
- Working experience with US Federal Acquisition FARs / DFAR and US Export Regulations
- Advanced degree and professional certifications (e.g. CPCM™, CFCM™, CCCM™) a plus.
As a Contracts Specialist, you will :
Be responsible for the complete lifecycle from solicitation to award for a given contractReview and select government and commercial sales opportunities and / or solicitations based on capability, competition, history and expertiseUnderstand manufacturing processes, products, procedures and material / labor / NRE regulationsCreate, prepare and submit responses for the RFP, RFI and / or RFQ with cost mark-upsUnderstand US Government solicitation and bidding process and contractual requirements, including US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS / DFARS), export regulations, First Article Tests (FATs), and Production Lot Tests (PLTs)Lead contract / bid negotiations for terms and conditions, and manage contracts through senior functional management, referring to legal counsel when necessaryReview, interpret, and lead preparation of packages for Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA) requirements in proposalsCreate and submit protests to the US government about solicitations and contracts awarded to competitorsUnderstand market dynamics and competition with respect to pricing and lead timeCollaborate with team to write / edit / proofread proposal sections to ensure all requirements are captured accurately in CRMLead continuous improvement projects to enhance current proposal / sales processSupport sales team in developing plans for attaining new businessLead Source Approval Request (SAR) package submissions for the US Government and assign and drive actions and sections of SARs by functional departments for the packagesEnsure compliance with Government regulations regarding SAR submittalsEnsure and maintain effective commercial governance in accordance with policies, procedures, and processesImplement effective contract management during project lifecycles, including customer liaison to improve contract win rates with government and commercial customersPrepare, review, and negotiate agreements, including but not limited to NDAs / PIAs, LTAs, novations, and contracts, to protect the company's commercial and legal interestEnsure the effective flow down of prime terms into contractual arrangements with suppliersWork with DCMA and Government Source Inspection (GSI) employees to resolve inspection, compliance, or product acceptance mattersOur Benefits :
