Our team is looking for an MRO Planner II to join them. You will report to the Production Supervisor and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, CA.
This position is responsible for ensuring all MRO part shortages are reviewed, tracked, obtained and issued to work orders timely. This is done by utilizing MRP system, Custom Applications and shared Excel workbooks.
In addition, this position will partner with the MRO admins, Operations Supervisor(s) and Purchasing to ensure delivery of products needed for production.

To be considered for the MRO Planner II opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus. Alternate work experience will be considered in place of degree
- Proven experience as an MRO planner
- Experience within the aerospace industry is a plus
- Being able to follow up on part shortages and issue them to work orders in a timely fashion
- Being able to prepare information and lead weekly Operations meetings for a selected group of products, in a manner that productively communicates order status, priorities, issues and concerns. Identify and resolve problems or delegate action items
- Being able to continuously look for better, more efficient ways to use MRP, Custom Apps and other tools
- Conformance to both internal and external customer requirements
- On time performance
Parts Shortages
- Retrieve shortage paperwork from the Electronics Supervisor and/or Techs
- Verify if the parts are in Ontic stock or Aviall consignment stock
- Log the parts on the shared shortage spreadsheet if not in stock
- Provide pricing information to the administrators
- Follow up with purchasing to:
- Ensure POs are placed timely
- Parts arrive timely and expedite as required
- Ensure all required Ontic inventory and consignment inventory transactions are made. These include but are not limited to:
- Release parts out of the consignment warehouse
- Receive parts into Visual via a PO, etc.
- Ensure parts required are entered into Visual in a timely matter
- Release parts from inventory to the appropriate work orders in a timely matter
- Regularly review open work orders/findings to:
- Ensure all part shortages are identified and the appropriate action taken
- Identify and research aged work orders/findings that should be closed/canceled.
- Take the appropriate action as necessary.
- In advance of the meetings:
- Prepare the required reports and ensure they are accurate and up to date
- Arrive to the meeting room with enough time to bring all required documentation up on the screen prior to the meeting participants arriving
- Responsible for holding the daily production meeting
- Regularly track and report all exchange parts
- Establish a methodology and process to set min and max levels for each exchange part number
- When a part goes below the min level ensure that a work order is released to the shop floor to bring the inventory level back to the established level
- Communicate with our sister locations (i.e. Cheltenham) as required
- Ensure the electronic inventory locations are neat and orderly
- Create and maintain annual MRO forecasts
- Work with the manager of planning to maintain safety stock and forecast levels
