Summary:
The Director of Sourcing leads the company’s procurement process for new and ongoing purchases of supplies. This role will interact with clients and vendors, evaluate and develop procurement strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize cost, and negotiate supplier contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's strategic sourcing plan to meet business goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strong partnerships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed.
- Partner with Supply Chain to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or supply reliability.
- Conduct market research and cost analysis to identify potential savings and efficiencies.
- Monitor and manage the sourcing budget to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Ensure all sourced materials meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues or concerns.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement best practices in sourcing and procurement to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Monitor geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors that could impact sourcing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for innovation in sourcing and procurement.
- Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize sourcing strategies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sourcing initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of sourcing activities with business needs.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and supplier meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in quantitative modeling and advanced EXCEL skills
- Experience developing and implementing successful strategic sourcing programs and practices
- Experience with complex contract negotiation
- Strong track record of delivering cost savings
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, purchasing, or supply chain management
5-10 plus years of procurement experience
Supervisory Requirements:
This position may include supervisory oversight
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet deadlines or manage crisis situations
Physical Demands:
Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines
Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug/alcohol testing and participate in random testing program
Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere
Must possess valid driver’s license
Travel:
15% expected for this position. More will be required for a hybrid work arrangement, if permitted
