Summary:
The HRBP is responsible for delivering exceptional HR service to their assigned employee population.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall:
Serves as a primary contact within the organization to provide guidance and direction to managers and employees related to their HR inquiries
Coaches managers and employees on HR policies, processes, and technology (HRIS)
Employee Engagement & Retention:
Executes engagement and retention programs (mentorship, contact points) and recognition program (service awards, spot awards, peer to peer recognition, personalized awards)
Supports employee wellness by leveraging mental health, financial, and stress management resources
Guides the employee experience/life cycle, communication strategies (surveys/townhalls), and realistic job previews
Organizational Effectiveness and Development:
Manages change in the organization (projects impacts of change and communicates as necessary)
Conducts team building exercises and leads teams through conflict, forming, storming, norming, and performing stages of group formation (identity, cohesion, structure)
Workforce/Performance Management:
Partner with Talent Acquisition and management to identify current talent gaps and forecast hiring needs to support growth of the organization and ensure alignment of talent to positions within the organization
Responsible for the delivery and completion of all performance reviews to provide constructive feedback and support growth of all employees
Employee Relations:
Foster an open-door policy to promote a solution-oriented culture and prevent retaliation.
Utilize progressive disciplinary procedures and approaches to include counseling, performance improvement plans, and corrective action to create win-win agreements that support the organization and the employee
Conducts investigations and exit interviews and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and improvement
Total Rewards:
Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing
Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records
Technology Management:
Operate and execute HR functions within assigned ATS/HRIS to record and track all completed HR tasks and or documentation.
Guide applicants, employees, and or managers on how to utilize all HR related systems
Risk Management:
Administer drug and alcohol program as well as maintain DOT physicals
Track motor vehicle records for all employees
Process and track injury/illness/auto related incidents, coordinate care and insurance claims
U.S. Employment Law & Regulations:
Administer and ensure processes comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions (EEO, OSHA, USCIS, FCRA, etc.)
Respond to unemployment claims and employment verifications
Complete all assigned audits and or investigations for assigned organization
Manage and maintain employee files (I-9's, employee folders, DOT folders)
Minimum Qualifications:
Detail-oriented
Manage and safeguard sensitive and confidential information
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
Must be a team player and possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Basic HR legal and compliance knowledge
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with PAYCOM is highly desired
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
Two to four years of related Human Resources Experience
Supervisory Requirements:
This position does not have supervisory requirements
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Physical Demands:
Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools are controls; reach with hands and arms
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines
Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug/alcohol testing and participate in random testing program
Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere
Must possess valid driver’s license
Travel:
10% travel required (office location visits)
