Staff Systems Engineer

Job Summary & Responsibilities Support various activities of the NPI process for transition into manufacturing Troubleshoot complex electrical subsystems and develop standard guides to help the floor with troubleshooting steps Develop, implement and maintain operational methods in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies Participate in continuous improvement efforts and 8D problem solving as needed Support the internal and external quality process and corrective actions Reduce production labor and material cost while improving efficiency and utilization Utilize the Engineering Change Order and Engineering Change Request system for the business unit Work with outside suppliers on outsourcing activities Work with manufacturing personnel to investigate and resolve manufacturing challenges in the cleanroom, documentation and component problems as they arise Support project planning by defining scope and tasks, and estimating effort and cost for product and feature development on a range of equipment platforms Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, travel may vary, up to15% Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering other engineering disciplines will be considered Minimum of 8 years of related experience Ability to understand and work with electrical schematics, assembly drawings, interconnect diagrams and BOMs Experience in debugging mechanical and electrical problems Demonstrated hands-on experience working and supporting manufacturing Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers and peers Capable of using lab equipment, DVM, oscilloscope Capable of using OrCAD or other modeling software Ability to effectively present information to customers, management, manufacturing and peers Experience with cable design and assembly. Basic knowledge with Electrical Compliance standard.
