Job Summary & Responsibilities Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Manager to lead our software development team in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for complex semiconductor handling systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, project management, and a deep understanding of hardware-software integration. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a small team of software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines. Collaborate with Program, Project and Product Managers in New Product Development (NPD) activities and product roadmap. Work with other software development managers to optimize current methodologies and workflows as well as adopt industry best practices and standards where applicable. Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware components. Proactively work with field and tech support teams in sustaining engineering activities. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and maintenance. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure timely resolution of issues. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Assist each in achieving personal goals and identify training to enhance skillsets and capabilities. Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies relevant to software design and development and hardware-software integration. Participate in recruiting/hiring activities as needed. Qualifications Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience (7 years) in software development, with at least 1 year in a managerial or leadership role. Demonstrated experience in recruiting, hiring and mentoring/coaching Strong knowledge of hardware-software integration and experience working with complex systems. Proficiency in Windows development, the .NET platform (C#, C ), and relation databases (SQL Server a plus). Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and allocate resources effectively. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, AzureDevOps) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. Ability to travel ~20% Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the semiconductor industry, robotics, or similar sector. Familiarity with hardware communication protocols and embedded systems is a plus. Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.
