Department: Crew Chief
Reports To: IHOP General Manager
Job Summary
In the absence of management the Crew Chief assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Manager. The Crew Chief continues working their assigned craft position responsibilities in addition to the ones listed below. The Crew Chief assists in directing Team Members in all phases of the operation, to achieve high standards of food preparation and presentation, service to guests, general cleanliness and pleasant atmosphere in accordance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in ensuring that all personnel, equipment and supplies are prepared and ready to meet the needs of the business. Assist in assigning Team Members duties and responsibilities and encouraging teamwork.
Inform all Team Members of new menu items, specials, and promotional materials to ensure complete understanding of the food preparation and service.
Adjust schedule meet the needs of the restaurant.
Control waste.
Perform administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner.
Perform other assignments as needed and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist in conducting orientations and training for new Team Members. Supervise Team member’s performance and conduct in compliance with Company policies. Observe guest relations to quality of food and service.
Teamwork and Communication
Works effectively with others (individuals and departments) in a positive, supportive and cooperative manner.
Cleanliness
Maintains a high standard of cleanliness.
Maintain interior and exterior appearance of restaurant
Ensure sanitation practices are maintained according to federal, state and local regulations. Ensure that food is properly stored (labeled, dated and rotated) and proper temperatures are maintained. Ensure proper personal hygiene and food handling.
Occupational Health & Safety
Performs all duties in a safe and responsible manner to assure workers, guests, suppliers/contractors and the environment are not at risk. Complies with all company safety policies, procedures and instructions. Uses materials handling procedures and equipment provided to minimize contamination or injury.
Maintain tight security.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Physically capable of standing for long hours.
- Ability to read, write and speak English language.
- Must be willing to cover shifts when needed.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must pass background check.
