This contract position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Brand Strategist with a strong focus on multi-brand architecture . As a key player in evolving enterprise-level brand strategy, you will work closely with leadership and external partners to build and refine a cohesive brand portfolio across core brands, sub-brands, and new ventures. The ideal candidate will have a methodical approach to solving complex brand challenges and thrive in a collaborative, high-trust team environment.
Position Details : Type : Contract
Location : Hybrid (NYC)
Duration : Around 6 months, 40 hours per week
Pay : $90 - $100 / hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible
Brand Strategist Responsibilities :
Collaborate closely with leadership to develop and execute enterprise-level brand strategy and architecture.
Work alongside an external branding agency to assess, refine, and optimize the brand portfolio, including both endorsed and standalone brands.
Lead the evaluation and refinement of sub-brands, with a focus on investment and benefits solutions, and help shape a new wealth-focused sub-brand.
Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather insights that inform and improve brand architecture.
Translate strategic insights into actionable brand improvements across positioning, naming, visual identity, and organizational structure.
Document the current brand architecture, identify gaps, and propose structured, actionable solutions.
Ensure brand consistency and alignment across all brand expressions, balancing strategic clarity with creative execution.
Brand Strategist Requirements :
5 years of hands-on experience in brand strategy, with a strong emphasis on brand architecture.
Experience in agency or consulting environments is preferred, especially with firms specializing in complex, multi-brand strategies.
Proven success in developing and refining brand portfolios in industries like financial services, insurance, and asset management.
Highly analytical and structured, with a problem-solving mindset and a clear approach to complex brand challenges.
Confident, collaborative, and skilled at building trust with internal teams and external partners.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to translate strategy into tangible outcomes, such as naming systems, brand hierarchies, and visual frameworks.
Comfortable leading high-stakes strategic projects and presenting clear, compelling recommendations.
