Position Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Onward Search. This full-time, in-person role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of elementary students, helping them develop essential life and academic skills through occupational therapy interventions.
- Location: In-person only (no hybrid/virtual options)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 32.5 hours/week
- Caseload: 3 schools
- Student Age/Grade Level: Elementary
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and implementing individualized treatment programs for students.
- Work directly with students to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and functional independence.
- Support classroom accommodations and modifications to promote student success.
- Monitor and document student progress, reporting updates to the OT and school staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure therapy goals align with educational objectives.
- Adapt therapy activities to meet the diverse needs of students across multiple school sites.
Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Washington State (or eligibility to obtain).
- Prior experience working with school-aged children, particularly in a school or pediatric setting, is preferred.
