Demand Planner [77752]

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Demand Planner for a Retail Luxury brand.

This is a 6 month contract opportunity. The role is located in New York City, NY, and is hybrid with 3 days a week required onsite.

Forecasting and Analysis

Develop product-level sales forecasts for specific categories and translate data into actionable business insights.

• Create a 24-month worldwide sales forecast for active, discontinued, and new items using an Anaplan-based forecasting software.
• Forecast sales by region for assigned categories by leveraging data, feedback from regional partners, and marketplace knowledge.
• Ensure sales forecasts align with broader financial strategies.
• Meet forecast accuracy and bias% targets.
• Develop launch forecasts for new products, considering comp sales and potential cannibalization.
• Monitor key collection performance, new launches, and top styles proactively.
• Analyze historical sales, comp styles, and product categories to identify trends, productivity, and opportunities.
• Build expertise in assigned categories and use data-driven insights to support business growth.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and add business value. Identify non-value-added activities and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.

Cross-Functional Partnership and Collaboration

Engage in solution-driven cross-functional communication to ensure business objectives are met.

• Collaborate closely with Category Management, Industrial Jewelry Supply, Global Assortment Planning, and Inventory Planning teams to achieve product strategies, financial goals, and product delivery objectives.
• Work with central merchandising and regional supply chain partners to align on sales forecasts for new launches and product categories.
• Participate in Demand Planning meetings with regional Supply Chain teams to share insights and strategic recommendations.
• Assist in onboarding and training new hires; share planning knowledge with cross-functional teams.
• Uphold company values by fostering engagement and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Encourage innovative thinking, smart risk-taking, and strategic problem-solving.
• Contribute to an inclusive culture that values diversity and collaboration.

Reporting

Develop clear, concise, and insightful reporting to support business decisions.

• Utilize tools like Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint to create effective, visually compelling reports.
• Adapt quickly to address ad-hoc requests and provide data-driven updates.
• Anticipate key business questions related to assigned product categories and provide actionable, well-communicated insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3 to 7 years of planning experience.
• Strong analytical, technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Teams, and other relevant software.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented and dynamic work environment.
