We are currently seeking a Developer - Core Programming Language (Java) III for a leading financial information and analytics company . This 6-month contract opportunity is based in New York, NY or New Jersey with a hybrid work arrangement that requires an on-site presence at least two days per week. As a Java Developer , you’ll work alongside the IT team to design, develop, test, and deploy critical and complex Java-based projects, contributing to key initiatives for a leading organization in the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, develop, test, and deploy complex Java-based projects .
Develop concurrent and distributed systems using Java .
Utilize Java 8 features , especially Streams API .
Implement microservices-based solutions .
Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality code.
Write and optimize SQL queries with a solid understanding of data models.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive software solutions.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
8 years of hands-on experience in Java development , including designing, developing, testing, and deploying complex projects .
Expertise in Java fundamentals and experience with concurrent and distributed systems .
Strong experience with Java 8 features , particularly Streams API .
5 years of experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.) and caching frameworks like Hazelcast .
5 years of experience writing SQL queries and working with data models.
Experience in designing and implementing microservices -based solutions.
Proven experience in writing unit and integration tests .
Familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
Nice to Have :
Experience in DevOps development and deployment using Docker and containers .
