Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Director of Accounting for a global mass media and entertainment company.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s accounting functions and its financial reporting. This is a 6 months contract opportunity. The is a hybrid role located in Los Angeles, CA.
Director of Accounting - Responsibilities :
Manage and oversee the preparation of timely financial statements and corporate submissions / disclosures.
Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts receivable, revenue recognition, deferrals, and general ledger accounting and GL account reconciliations.
Review and post journal entries for all aspects of the business.
Manage the month-end financial reporting process.
Consolidate support schedules for internal and external requests.
Supervise a team of accounting staff, ensuring effective team performance and efficiency.
Fulfill ad-hoc requests as needed.
Director of Accounting - Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with financial analysis, US GAAP and IFRS.
10 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Desired Skills :
CPA, CMA, or Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience in the entertainment industry preferred, ideally in transactional accounting.
Advanced computer skills on MS Office (specifically Excel), SAP, and databases.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work with large amounts of data – files by title, market, and territory.
Working knowledge of VAT & Withholding taxes.
