You’ll be responsible for managing your own work under the guidance of a project lead, focusing approximately 90% of your time on design and development. This role involves creating and developing training materials from inception to execution for American Funds Service Groups (AFSG) client services-based departments. A portfolio or personal website showcasing past work is appreciated.
Instructional Design Specialist Responsibilities :
Collaborate with Project Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, create, and develop training materials.
Focus on design and development within the ADDIE model, specifically for Design and Development phases.
Develop training materials in various modalities, including ILT / VILT, eLearning, self-paced, and virtual classroom formats.
Utilize Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Camtasia, and other tools for video development and editing.
Manage documents and materials using Microsoft Office 365 Suite and intermediate MS SharePoint Online experience.
Identify areas for improvement within training processes and technologies, and recommend solutions.
Must Haves :
Proficiency in Articulate 360 - Storyline and Rise
Experience with Camtasia for video development and editing
Ability to design and develop training content in ILT / VILT, eLearning, self-paced, and virtual classroom formats
Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
Intermediate experience with MS SharePoint Online (loading, checking in, and checking out documents)
Nice to Have :
Experience with Captivate
Skills in Adobe Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Familiarity with the NovoEd Learning Platform
Graphic design experience
Experience with recording and editing audio
Knowledge of the ADDIE model, including Analysis, Implementation, and Evaluation phases
Experience in designing and developing assessments / tests
Skills :
In-depth knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories, focusing on design and development
Ability to prioritize and manage work effectively in a timely manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and multi-tasking abilities
Learning agility for adapting to new work assignments
Capability to collaborate effectively with local or remote teams
Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions
Note : While the position is listed with San Antonio as the site, this role is fully remote and open to candidates within the continental US.
