Our client is seeking a dedicated Design Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fully-remote role. 3 month contract on a W2.
This role is not eligible for C2C or Visa Sponsorship
As a Design Systems Engineer, you will bridge the gap between design and development, standardizing and implementing a scalable design system. Your work will ensure that our client's digital products deliver consistent, intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and implementation of the design system
- Create and maintain reusable UI components, ensuring they adhere to accessibility standards like WCAG
- Implement and manage tools like Storybook to streamline design system workflows
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests for UI components to ensure quality and functionality
- Proactively solve problems, balancing business goals with user needs while addressing design system challenges
- Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the design system
- Work within Agile methodologies to deliver iterative and impactful updates to the design system
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in software development or design system engineering
- 3 years of front-end development experience, including creating or maintaining design systems
- Proficiency in front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks, particularly Angular; familiarity with React is a plus
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing design system updates
- Experience with tools such as Storybook and Figma
- A strong understanding of accessibility standards like WCAG and how to build compliant components
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, allowing effective interaction with designers, developers, and stakeholders
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- A passion for learning and staying updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in design systems and front-end development

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the length of assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
