Overview
Our client, a dynamic and growing advisory firm, is seeking a Vice President, Transaction Advisory Services to lead financial due diligence engagements for private equity firms and middle-market companies. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with senior executives, analyze complex financial data, and deliver strategic insights that drive investment decisions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in transaction advisory services, financial due diligence, and M&A consulting. This position offers flexibility with options for onsite in Chicago or Denver, or fully remote work.
Responsibilities
- Primary industries served include manufacturing, light industrial, healthcare, and SaaS sectors.
- Lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence projects, primarily for private equity clients and middle-market companies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial and operational data, focusing on quality of earnings, net working capital, and key deal considerations. This role requires a generalist approach, working with clients across a variety of industries.
- Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and oversight on project execution.
- Coordinate directly with target company personnel, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate due diligence processes.
- Prepare and present financial due diligence reports summarizing key findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Assist in business development initiatives, including client relationship management and proposal development.
- Stay current on M&A market trends and regulatory developments to provide informed guidance to clients.
- Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership and best practices in transaction advisory services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in transaction advisory services, financial due diligence, or M&A consulting (Big 4 or national consulting firm experience preferred).
- Active CPA license or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong client service mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship management.
