General Description/Purpose
A Master Plumber ensures projects are delivered successfully and on time, collaborating with engineers and subcontractors to define project needs and oversee staff performance.
Essential Job Functions
- Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
- Installs, repairs, or replaces and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, and drains.
- Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines.
- Installs, repairs, or replaces isolation valves, traps, etc.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs water, and gas distribution systems.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure efficient plumbing system installations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Clean sanitary sewer lines
- Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
- Inspect jobs upon completion ad ensure areas are clean
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
- Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
- Read blueprints and follow building codes and regulations
- Ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and perform repairs in a timely manner
- 5 years’ proven experience and a strong understanding of plumbing systems
- Master Plumbing License through Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Physical Requirements
- Strong understanding of current regulations within the field
- General knowledge of power tools and safe usage techniques
- Knowledge of local quality, safety and health guidelines for construction job sites
