Role Overview:

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing and executing the supply chain strategy to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure efficient service delivery. This is a stakeholder-facing role that requires collaboration with various departments to meet business objectives and ensure high-quality service for end users. Reporting to VP – Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure resources are available for an effective supply chain.
• Establish and track performance metrics to evaluate supply chain efficiency.
• Manage and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies.
• Ensure optimal stock levels to support production and minimize downtime.
• Analyze current processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
• Develop policies to enhance supply chain efficiency, ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Optimize shipment routes and manage warehousing and distribution.
• Negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies on pricing and delivery terms.
• Advise the product development team on material availability and cost.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to manage changes, product extensions, or new launches.
• Monitor supplier performance, assess quality and delivery, and source new suppliers as needed.
• Manage a team of supply chain managers, coordinators, and specialists.
• Implement new technologies to improve supply chain processes.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Experience in the Manufacturing industry, especially in Automotive, Heavy Engineering, or Wind Power.
• Willing to work in a startup environment during US working hours.
• Hands-on experience with Response Time Metrics (TAT, Inventory Turns, Cost per Unit, Price Variance, etc.).
• Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP).
• Strong people management and cross-functional leadership skills.
