What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant and Receptionist (2 full-time positions available) position at Onyx Urgent Care & Primary Care?
- This is a primary care/urgent care office located on the corner of 23/Card
- We currently see anywhere between 20-35 patients total including primary patients, urgent care patients, weight loss patients, and Telemed patients
- We are open 9 AM - 9 PM daily
- We are hiring 2 full time positions - preferred if you have experience as a medical assistant and a receptionist
- MUST HAVE RELATED EXPERIENCE AS A RECEPTIONIST AND/OR MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Wages are very competitive for the area, pay hourly every 2 weeks
- 1st full time position; we are looking for an experienced front desk receptionist, very friendly, and knows the duties of a receptionist mainly verifying insurance/collecting payments, answering phones, prior authorizations, directing calls, and more.
- The 2nd position will be mainly for somebody who is experienced as a medical assistant especially in terms of drawing blood, injections, x-rays, vitals, etc.
- 36-40 hours weekly with ability to pick up shifts
- Our staff work hand in hand assisting each other and over lap in duties to ensure smooth and fast care for our patients
- We offer a 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, and 4 hour shifts
- We Use NextGen Health fusion EMR which is simple and straight forward and are moving to EPIC which is even more user friendly
- We use E-thomas to check for payment info and prior visits if a patient has balance
- We will train you on the EMR and other duties and perform one shift to assess your fit for the position

*Duties of front desk include accurate insurance vertification, collecting payments/co-pays, Registering patients, communciating with billers , answering phone calls, call patients regarding results, check E-thomas for establised patients, check email, and most importantly- being friendly and kind with our patients
*Duties of MA - Triage, Vitals, Patient Intake including reason for visit, performing viral swabs, Urinalysis, injections, phlebotomy, ecg, and xrays thus experience with these duties are a must

- Strong patient service skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Knowledge of conducting vital signs measurements accurately
- Familiarity with X-Ray procedures and equipment is a plus
