The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented Consumer App Designer to join our team and take the lead in designing world-class user experiences for the Speedtest app and related data products. You will be responsible for driving the design of consumer-facing products, creating intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning user interfaces that empower millions of users worldwide to understand and improve their internet connectivity.
In this role, you will also play a key part in shaping creative direction and ensuring that all designs align with Ookla's brand strategy. You will collaborate across teams to reinforce brand identity, innovate within established guidelines, and drive user engagement through cohesive and impactful visual storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for the Speedtest app, from conceptualization to final implementation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality design solutions.
- Translate complex data and connectivity insights into user-friendly visuals and interactions that resonate with a global audience.
- Develop creative direction and visual strategies that align with Ookla's brand identity, driving consistency across all consumer-facing touchpoints.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate designs and inform iterative improvements.
- Partner with marketing and product teams to ensure designs reinforce brand strategy and create engaging user experiences.
- Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across products.
- Advocate for user-centric design principles and best practices within cross-functional teams.
