90 year old landscape management/snow removal company has an opening for a Mowing Crew Leader. Full-time year round position.
Job Title: Mowing Crew Leader
- Leads a crew for spring/fall clean-up, mowing, trimming, edging and various other landscape and lawn enhancement duties.
- Operates lawn mowers, trimmers, and other power equipment required in managing the client's landscape (especially turf).
- Assist with maintenance of equipment as needed.
- Insure adequate fluid levels on all equipment, sharpen blades
- Keep accurate record of work throughout the day.
- Ensure trucks\trailers are loaded and ready to leave by start time (during applicable seasons)
- Complete assigned work on or under budgeted time throughout the workday
- Perform necessary follow-up to assure that work is completed according to the standards of the company.
- Monitor crew in the field to assure that work is completed in a timely and quality manner and perform final inspection of all jobs.
- Maintain equipment in a manner that enhances company image
- Maintain good attendance.
- Winter duties include, but are not limited to, snow and ice removal using tractors, loaders, trucks, snow blowers, plows, power equipment and hand shoveling
Minimum job requirements:
2 years mowing experience with commercial mowing equipment. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with crew members and clients with proven customer service skills. Good driving record with a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. CDL is desired but not required. Ability to prioritize, multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is necessary. Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain.
- Ability to work around chemicals such as weed killers, fertilizers, etc.
- Ability to operate power equipment.
- Ability to drive large trucks (with trailer) and equipment.·
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work extended hours frequently.
- Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures, heat and cold, and various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to follow all safety requirements.
Work Environment:
- Various outside locations with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
If applicable, premium pay for snow removal work performed at night and on weekends.
